Hurricane Relief Thank You

_relief_3___1

On September 12, around noon a full 18-wheel truck with approximately 44,000 pounds of items left the Salem parking lot bound for the United Methodist Committee on Relief Distribution Center in Ballwin, LA.  Salem contributed $22,031.60 which was divided between cash and supplies to UMCOR.  In addition to the Salem congregation several area churches, Eden Seminary, and community members also donated supplies.  Thank you to everyone that received donations in the hot sun, packaged health kits, sorted boxes, shoppers that bought supplies, and the youth that made the huge sign for the truck.  A big thank to the Salem mission team for all your organization and hard work.  May God use our gifts to help bring hope to those in the midst of chaos!

Salem in Ladue UMC is sponsoring the "Least Coin Mission Project" to benefit Kingdom House.  The goal is to collect enough pennies to reach from Salem to Kingdom House (approximately 12 miles).  Pennies are being collected at Salem now through December 4, and the collection will be presented to Kingdom House during the December 4th celebration of the opening of the Exploration Place.  Please bring in your pennies!!!!!
